About the role:

This role reports to the Manager, Learning Systems and Data, EFI.

Key responsibilities:


This Principal Project Officer (Learning Systems and Data) in the Capability Branch provides essential technical support, data management and systems implementation.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide expert advice and insights through enhanced data, analytics services and reporting to improve workforce capability development effectiveness in accordance with departmental policies and standards.
  • Analyse business requirements and implement improvements to capability development data and information management.
  • Contribute to uplifting branch data and analytical capabilities and processes to support datainformed and insightsdriven capability development.
  • Manage data and information assets, interpreting and visualising data to identify trends and patterns to solve business problems and translating findings.
  • Prepare, update and maintain various program and project artefacts including reporting.

The ideal applicant is someone who has:

  • Highly developed system and data analysis experience in the collation and presentation of data to provide clear reporting and insights to support informed decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability in analytical problem solving, statistical gathering techniques, performance analysis methodologies, report development and critical analysis and evaluation skills.
  • Effective communication skills and working relationships with a wide variety stakeholders.
  • While not mandatory, a relevant qualification and one or more of below skills would be well regarded.
  • Knowledge of learning, human resource and event management systems
  • Knowledge of capability development process and relevant data flow and standards
  • Solid knowledge of information management and privacy requirements
  • Solid knowledge of SQL Database structure and development
  • Knowledge of software development and system integration/implementation cycle
