About the role
This role supports the Regional Planning team.

This team manages all planning undertaken by the North Coast Region (NCR), including strategic state transport corridor needs and interests, land-use requirements of TMR in major long-term planning activities, and investment and project planning for future projects to cater for current and future growth throughout the region.


In the role of Program Support Officer (Planning) you will utilise a broad range of computer software programs and information management systems and databases to provide high-quality support services to assist managers, project managers and team members to enhance the timely and effective delivery of projects, ensuring compliance with appropriate legislation, organisational policies and procedures.

The role reports to the Manager (Strategic Planning) and has no direct reports

Duties

  • Provide highquality administrative support to the Planning team, including word processing, data entry, document preparation, records management, establishing and maintaining spreadsheets, registers, and work method statements
  • Undertaking project work, including property acquisitions for a range of projects, to support the planning team and ensure successful delivery of projects by:
  • completing assigned preliminary research and analysis, data collation and providing timely and accurate information, and escalating complex issues to the relevant project manager
- preparation of reports, memorandums, ministerial and other correspondence to both internal and external customers
- liaising, consulting and maintaining effective relationships with planning team members, and other internal and external stakeholders
- prioritising work to successfully deliver assigned projects
- carry out business administration functions such as maintaining work method statements and procedures and registers

  • Provide onthejob supervision and training to others as required
  • Actively participate in performance conversations to build and support a culture of performance improvement
  • Ensure operational practices and standards of service and performance comply with departmental and regional policies, legislation (incl. WH&S), and governance obligations.
