About You/ Role


Our Health, Safety and Staff Wellbeing team who shapes and leads our health, safety across the department by delivering services and support to our schools and workplaces by creating safe working and learning environments.

As our team is growing rapidly, we are recruiting several positions for our Manager Staff Wellbeing around Sydney.

As a Manager Staff Wellbeing you will lead a collaborative, consultative support team to deliver proactive prevention initiatives through direct support to staff to strengthen mentally healthy workplaces.


  • Lead and manage a team to deliver staff wellbeing programs and case management services to schools and staff.
  • Develop and deliver innovative programs and services to improve staff wellbeing and the social, emotional, health and educational outcomes in schools.
  • Provide expert advice and case management support to schools and executives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Skills and Experience

  • Develop effective strategies and show decisiveness in dealing with complex situations and difficult or controversial issues.
  • Excellent relationshipbuilding and communication abilities.
  • Strong people management skills
- ideally have experience with managing a team or in a lead position previously.

  • The ability to remain resilient and composed in highpressure and rapidly changing situations.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as education, business, management, social sciences or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience at a senior level in the management of a large complex organisation.
  • Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of programs and strategies to enhance staff wellbeing in schools.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
  • NSW Driver License and willingness to drive.
