As the Human Resources Manager, you will play a pivotal role in achieving the team goals, organisation values and outcomes, whilst contributing to the NFP Sector, this role is both operational and strategic.

As the Human Resources Manager, you will play an important role in sharing the responsibility for achieving team goals and priorities all in line with the organisation's strategic objectives, values and outcomes.

Your new exciting role will work closely with the Director of Human Resources to manage HR and Payroll functions in the business including recruitment, on-boarding, induction, workers compensation and return to work, volunteering, student placements and payroll.

You will also provide guidance to Managers and staff on HR matters and contributes to strategic HR and employment relations matters.

This role will involve;

  • Understand and promote the mission and values and represent the organisation effectively to enhance the strategic direction of the organisation
  • Support and ensure compliance including WHS initiatives, Policy and Procedures
  • Oversee a small HR team, ensuring they are supported and provided with leadership, training and development
  • Oversee end to end HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, security checks, employee probation and reviews, exits and training coordination
  • Provide guidance and advice to managers, employees, volunteers and students on HR related matters
  • Contribute to strategic HR initiatives including employee wellbeing, training, development and culture
  • HR reports are provided for the Board monthly
  • Ensure compliance with all HR and WHS legislation
  • Ensure all employment relations matters are dealt with promptly
  • Participate in quality improvement, including HR policies and procedures and regularly reviewed and updated to meet all legal obligations and best practice guidelines

The requirements for this role include;

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience as a HR Manager
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a small team and strong knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Ability to develop strong, professional relationships with all internal/external stakeholders with the ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality at all times.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a focus on ensuring accurate preparation of documentation with outstanding facilitation skills
  • Lead by example and model the organisations values through own behaviour and making a positive contribution to workplace culture
  • In-depth knowledge of HR legislation and regulations including (but not limited to) modern awards (SCHADS), NES, Fair Work Act, WHS Act and Regulations and practices used within HR
  • Current driver's license
