A Day in the Life:


As a Grade 1 Dietitian you will provide dietetic services within Monash Health adult bed based patient services, outpatient services and clinics with the aim of improving patient outcome and/or facilitating discharge.

You will actively contribute to the Nutrition and Dietetic and multidisciplinary teams by providing best practice clinical care, sharing knowledge and participating in professional development, quality improvement activities, and projects as delegated.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Work independently within approved scope of practice to provide safe, evidencebased assessment, outcome measures, therapeutic care and/or discharge planning according to organisational policies and procedures in order to achieve optimal care
  • Work collaboratively with consumers, their families and/or significant others and other stakeholders to establish a patient/client focused multidisciplinary management plan, consistent with currently accepted professional standards of practice and evidenced based practice
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe consumerfocused care
  • Ensure timely and responsive management of fluctuating referrals as required, liaising with stakeholders to facilitate seamless healthcare to consumers

  • Clinical experience in a hospital setting
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to engage in reflective practice
  • Demonstrated experience in responding to change by contributing constructively to new ideas or change processes
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver safe consumerfocused care
  • Demonstrate initiative in contributing and/or leading quality improvement or research projects
  • Demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning through professional development of self and others

What you need:

  • Eligibility for membership of Dietitians Australia;
  • Eligibility for Accredited Practising APD membership;
  • 2 Clinical Referees (inclusive of your direct line Manager)
  • Current Drivers Licence
