Our four-theatre hospital has 48 Surgeons over 100 dedicated specialist nurses and administration personnel. We conduct surgery for all anterior and posterior procedures. Perth Eye Hospital is a part of the CURA Day Hospital Group, Australia's leading provider of day hospital facilities.
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse to fulfill the role of Preadmission Nurse on a casual/part-time basis.
As the Preadmission nurse your responsibilities will include:
· Performing a comprehensive nursing assessment of patients prior to admission
· Assisting with the coordination of investigations and pathology prior to admission
· Providing comprehensive education to patients prior to treatment
· Coordinating discharge and aftercare arrangements
· Be a point of contact for patients during their treatment cycle
· Assisting with the development and implementation of systems, processes and projects required to ensure efficient, effective and responsive patient centred care in line with the organisation's strategic direction
· Promote and contribute to a supportive and engaged team environment.
· Being committed to providing a safe environment for all
To be successful in your application for this position, you will have:
- Current nursing registration with AHPRA
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Awareness and understanding of National Standards and Accreditation Standards.
- High level communication, written and verbal, with demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills with consumers, their families and all health care professionals.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
