Speech Therapist

Ipswich, Queensland
Contract/Temp

Role
We are currently seeking a Speech Therapist with disability experience to provide therapeutic support to NDIS participants, Including report writing to NDIS.

  • Perform initial evaluations of participants' needs and develop customised therapy plans.
  • Provide Speech Pathology services to participants with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual and physical disability and other complex needs (under supervision as required).
  • Diagnosing, treating, and preventing speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Creating treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualised needs of a diverse population of participants.
  • Performing screenings to detect voice or speech disorders.
  • Keeping detailed records relating to participant conditions, support plans, therapies, and progress.
  • Reporting the progress and current status to appropriate parties, including family members, teachers, or medical professionals.
  • Identify barriers that may restrict the participant's physical, emotional, cognitive and social development, wellbeing or participation
  • incorporate Child Safe Standards in their practice when working with children and young people
  • Report any real or potential risks of harm to a participant,
  • Working within NDIS and government legislative requirements

Experience and qualifications:

  • 10 plus years' experience or
  • 5 years' experience with post-grad quals

Hours are very flexible. Would suit a consultant looking for additional hours, or someone seeking flexibility to accommodate other commitments.
