Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Portfolio Director - Commercial & Industrial BESS & BMS to join their team in Melbourne or Sydney.

This pivotal role involves overseeing the comprehensive portfolio of BESS and BMS products, ensuring they meet market demands, adhere to the highest quality standards, and align with our client's strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management:

Lead the management of the entire BESS and BMS product portfolio, including the development of new products, enhancements of existing products, and phase-out of outdated products.

Ensure the portfolio meets market requirements and aligns with our client's strategic goals.

Market Analysis:
Conduct thorough market research to identify industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
Utilise these insights to guide product development and marketing strategies, ensuring products are competitive and meet customer demands.

Product Development:

Collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams to drive the development and enhancement of BESS and BMS products.

Ensure products meet quality, cost, and performance benchmarks, and comply with industry standards.

Lifecycle Management:
Oversee the entire lifecycle of BESS and BMS products from concept through to end-of-life.

Develop and implement strategies for each phase, including product launch, growth, maturity, and decline, to maximise product longevity and profitability.


Stakeholder Engagement:

Work with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, to ensure successful product development and delivery.

Build and maintain strong relationships to support business objectives.

Financial Oversight:
Monitor the financial performance of the product portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
Provide financial analysis and reports to support strategic decision-making and ensure profitability.

Quality Assurance:
Ensure all BESS and BMS products meet our client's stringent quality standards.
Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance product reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction.

Reporting and Documentation:
Maintain detailed records and reports on product performance, market conditions, and project progress.
Present findings, insights, and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
A Master's degree or MBA is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in product management, portfolio management, or a related role within the energy storage, renewable energy, or related industry.


Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of BESS technology, BMS, and their applications in commercial and industrial settings.
Proven experience with product development processes and lifecycle management.

Analytical Skills:
Strong proficiency in market analysis, financial modelling, and data interpretation.
Ability to make strategic, data-driven decisions.

Project Management:
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
Excellent organisational, time management, and leadership skills.

Communication:
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to present complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Leadership:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive collaboration across various departments.
