DT Infrastructure has been entrusted with the crucial role of managing the design and construction of the maintenance facility at Ormeau.

The Ormeau facility will not only support rail manufacturing and maintenance in Queensland but also contribute to the success of the Cross River Rail project and the upcoming 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games.


About the role:


The key purpose of this role is supporting the DT Infrastructure's operations with the delivery and reporting of Workforce Development programs and initiatives.


This will involve day-to-day interface with the project's leadership, commercial and procurement teams, other team members, clients, subcontractors and external organisations to establish, implement and monitor strategies.


  • During tender, assist in developing WDIP Management Plan and all relevant documents.
  • Upon contract award, assist the operational teams with identifying opportunities, developing and implementing strategies to achieve training and workforce development and industry participation targets.
  • Assist with the implementation of strategies in accordance with the management plan.
  • Plan and deliver innovative WDIP programs including job readiness, vocational training and skilling, workplace diversity and inclusion, careers planning, mentoring and industry exposure.
  • Access key funding models and programs, including governmentsubsidised courses and approved training providers.
  • Coordinate programs to support the graduates, cadets and apprentices.
  • Build positive relationships with relevant stakeholders for example but not limited to client, subcontractors, local community, Department of Education, Apprenticeship Support Groups, Registered Training Organisations, jobactive providers, working groups, local business, and local government on WDIP opportunities.
  • Work with other State and Commonwealth Government agencies to access resources and support to achieve targets.
  • Build and encourage cultural diversity.
  • Deliver presentations, subcontractor forums, facilitate meetings, and engage with various work groups to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Maintain the Training Needs Analysis and propose training solutions and ensure the timely delivery of all training activities across Projects as per the Training / L&D Matrix.

About you:

  • 3+ years' training or learning and development work experience within the rail or civil construction industry
  • Demonstrable and significant experience dealing at a strategic level with education providers, registered training organisations, skill services organisations
  • Experience working with the implementation and delivery of diversity and inclusion programs
  • Experience in liaising with state and federal agencies in relation to accessing funding opportunities related to training
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
  • HR Degree preferred
  • Knowledge & capability working with various Learning Management Systems (implementation of LMS project desirable)
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office software programs; (Word, Excel and Outlook)
