The Opportunity
Visy Logistics, part of the wider Visy Group, is a significant international freight operator.

As part of our integrated, end-to-end freight and logistics offering we provide import, export and cross-trade shipping services globally, via our extensive global footprint.

Our comprehensive international freight services include international sea freight, air freight, freight forwarding, container transport, customs clearance and coastal shipping.

As we are embarking on our progressive 5-year growth plan, we now have a role for an experienced and proactive General Manager


Reporting to the Country Manager Australia and based out of Epping, this is an outstanding opportunity for a dynamic and forward thinking leader to have a tremendous impact in shaping the future state of this growing division.


The Role


As the General Manager - Global Forwarding (AU), you will lead the Australian businesses holistic performance to the standards and expectations embedded in the Visy Logistics' 5 year plan.


Reporting to the Country Manager and based at our office in Epping, you will work independently and autonomously, whilst delivering results through collaborative and cross-functional leadership.


Collaborating with global, regional and in-country stakeholders, you will develop end-to-end global forwarding services and senior supplier relationships for the purposes of enabling the realisation of our desired strategies, market share & financial growth.


Further to that you are responsible for managing the entire business portfolio, providing daily coordination and direction in order to meet our customer expectations.

It is also vital to balance both immediate/medium and long-term activities to ensure the effective delivery of the functional areas of responsibility whilst ensuring the success of our long-term sustainability of the customer base and strategic profile development of Visy Global Forwarding.


Your background:

  • Strong Global freight forwarding experience gained working in a leading international freight forwarding business
  • Strong industry networks
  • Solid prior experience in a similar leadership role with full P&L responsibility
  • Proven success in transforming national service delivery and operations standard resulting in define "best practice"
  • You possess a continuous improvement mindset with strong change management experience
  • You can build strong relationships external and internal as this will be crucial to the success of his role
  • You are true enabler that can encourage and develop excellence in your people
