THE ROLE

The key focus of the Mill Foreman is to develop and implement operational practices & strategies that drive business excellence, while fostering a culture of pride and accountability within our Operations team. Reporting to the Processing Manager and working closely with the Maintenance and Metallurgy teams, you will oversee operational aspects of the ROM, Processing plant, Water services and TSF to ensure operator performance, production and cost targets are achieved in a safe and efficient manner.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and foster a culture of accountability and teamwork
  • Demonstrate exceptional safety leadership
  • Ensure that all personnel are appropriately trained
  • Drive consistency to established systems and processes across crews
  • Monitor and manage operations to ensure statutory compliance
  • Conduct inspections to ensure plant performance, safety and housekeeping expectations are being met
  • Ensure relevant security processes and protocols are followed
  • Performance management, development, succession planning and recruitment of operations team
  • Work closely with Metallurgy and Maintenance teams to optimise and improve plant performance
  • Daily, weekly and monthly reporting, and quarterly budgeting and forecasting
  • Drive process plant operations to achieve targets
  • Act in the role of Processing Manager as required

ABOUT YOU

You are a personable, motivated and decisive individual with a hard-working attitude, committed to building high performing teams. You have a passion for mineral processing and strive for continuous improvement and best practice in everything you do.

You can demonstrate:

  • Significant experience in a senior leadership role in Gold ore Processing
  • Experience in managing performance standards and instilling accountability
  • An excellent working knowledge of gravity separation, flotation and leaching processes (preferably Copper/Gold)
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills, proven across both day to day works and project deliveries.
  • Experience in developing processing procedures and systems (including DCS)
  • A passion for training, mentoring and developing your team to be the best they can be
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • The ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, with well developed EQ skills
  • C Class driver's licence, Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets are essential
  • Cert IV in training and assessing would be viewed favourably
  • Cert IV In Resource Processing would be preferred
  • Nationally accredited tickets in Mobile Plant (Forklift, Loader, Excavator, Skid Steer) would be an advantage
