Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) is responsible for managing the Group's relationships with major corporate and government clients and institutional investors, and provides a full range of capital raising, transactional and risk management products and services

You will be part of the Product quant team of QSG.

This team is a group of quantitative analysts, aka quants, with in-depth knowledge in quantitative finance particularly in derivatives pricing and excellent number crunching skill built on expertise from the mathematics, finance and hands-on programming.

People also call us desk quants because we are working very closely with traders to build pricing, risk calculation and other analytical models, solve computation and data issues, manage the model risk, and develop advanced derivatives pricing library and PnL/Risk management system for trading and other stakeholders.

The Product quant team supports Fixed Income, Rates, FX and Commodity trading desks.

As an
Associate Director Quantitative Solutions, you will be working in the area to support Commodities.

The major focus of this role is to build the quant pricing library and to develop quantitative solutions on the Beacon platform to support commodity trading and sales in pricing and risk management.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of pricing and risk models for the Commodities business
  • Maintain and further develop quant processes and pricing libraries for commodity trading and sales
  • Make strong contributions to the risk management tools and analytics used by the desk, ultimately becoming a risk management partner with the trading desk.

We're interested in hearing from people who have

  • Problem solving mindset with a focus on business outcome within the expected timeframe.
  • Experience in financial instruments and their mathematical specification.
  • Degree in a mathematical discipline e.g. Mathematics, Quantitative Finance or Financial Engineering
  • Proficient programming skills in C++, Python and C#.
  • Advanced verbal, written and numerical analysis skill
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical issues to both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Experience in a quant role will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in development of Beacon or other quantitative finance system will be highly regarded.
