About the team
The Student Life (SL) division plays a key role in delivering world-class higher education at The University of Western Australia, managing all aspects of student experience.
This includes accommodation, academic and administration services, health and wellbeing, accessibility, sport and recreation, careers and employability, international student support and study exchange.
While reporting to Student Life, this role works closely with the Brand, Marketing and Recruitment (BMR) division, providing the University's brand management, marketing, recruitment and communication activities.
This role works closely with the Future Students (FS) team within BMR, which provides strategic student recruitment direction and management for the university.
The FS Contact Centre brings together the recruitment operations for international and domestic markets to providing professional consulting advice to meet all future student needs at a central location.
About the opportunity
You will provide the front-line accommodation advisory service to prospective and current students. Appointees will also fulfil a variety of administrative tasks and roles as required.
To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrated equivalent competency
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work with a range of people from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, and of different age groups
- Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively as part of a team
- Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Broad knowledge of student accommodation market, education systems; university admission requirements, policies and procedures
- High level customer service, including understanding the needs of customers and exceeding their expectations
- Desirable: A demonstrated proficiency in Mandarin speaking
Please note the special requirements of this role:
- Weekend and afterhours work, with flexibility for some mid-week shifts as required
- Ability to undertake physical tasks such as manual handling, packing and unpacking materials
