Are you an experienced and dynamic leader with a passion for asset management? We're seeking an Asset Team Leader to join our forward-thinking team. In this critical role, you'll oversee the management and optimization of our assets while leading and developing a team of talented asset managers and support staff within a high-performing Federal Government Department with a supportive leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to annual financial statements, including preparing high-quality reconciliations and workpapers.
  • Manage the department's asset register and coordinate the annual asset stocktake process.
  • Oversee asset revaluations and impairment reviews.
  • Develop and implement effective accounting policies and position papers.
  • Maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders, including the Department of Finance and the Australian National Audit Office.
  • Provide high-quality financial reporting and accounting advice.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of asset managers and support staff.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.

Asset Management:

  • Oversee the management and optimization of company assets.
  • Develop and implement asset management strategies and plans.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Monitor asset performance and implement improvements as necessary.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective asset management.
  • Address and resolve issues or concerns related to asset management.

About You:

  • Proven experience in asset management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in asset management software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
