About the program
Support After Suicide is an initiative of Jesuit Social Services within the Mental Health and Wellbeing stream.

Operating in metropolitan Melbourne, rural Victoria, and NSW, the program provides counselling, group and online support to people bereaved by suicide.


Support After Suicide also facilitates information sessions for the community and provides education to professionals to increase the awareness of how to respond effectively and compassionately to the bereaved.


Since 2021, the program has provided postvention coordination in the South East region of Melbourne, specifically Southern Melbourne area (Dandenong, Casey, Cardinia, Frankston and Mornington Peninsula) and Gippsland region.

The Officer will assist the current Postvention Coordinator in carrying out the responsibilities of this response.

About the role


The role will assist the current Postvention Coordinator in the organisation of postvention responses across South East Melbourne and Gippsland.

  • Highly organised person with an ability to form positive working relationships internally and externally
  • Familiarity with suicide and its impacts is desirable
