Job Description

The Facilities Officer – Grounds is responsible for contributing to the well-being of residents at BallyCara, by managing the upkeep and uplift of the garden facilities, to ensure the grounds within BallyCara look amazing

Our gardens are always a talking point and very much loved by our residents.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide a range of general horticultural works to ensure the grounds within Ballycara are maintained to an exceptional standard for the wellbeing of residents.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service to residents, visitors, contractors, and staff.
  • Maintenance and high-pressure cleaning of external equipment and shared spaces.
  • Utilise knowledge of horticultural maintenance to improve the presentation of the open spaces.
  • Liaise with stakeholders regarding gardening requests.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in customer service to residents, visitors, contractors, and staff.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • Experience performing general maintenance and grounds tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to support team members in achieving goals, especially during busy and/or difficult working periods.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, ability to deal effectively with changing demands in workload.
  • Sound interpersonal skills with an ability to relate to a wide range of people.
  • Excellent understanding of risk management, assessment and minimizing risk.
  • Ability to perform physical task demands.
  • Great team player with a friendly and positive attitude.
  • Possession of a "C" Class Queensland Driver's Licence.
  • Formal horticultural qualifications will be well regarded
  • 2+ years of horticultural experience

Position Requirements

  • National Police Check clearance which allows working unsupervised
