About the Role

Reporting to the Manager of Maintenance, this is a pivotal role within the Service Delivery Portfolio.

As the Reliability Specialist you will be responsible for:
investigating failure and developing mitigation strategies to improve asset performance on Melbourne Water's Electrical, Mechanical and Civil assets.

  • Providing technical expertise and experience to ensure safe, and consistent delivery of reliability improvement activities.
  • Working across teams with other reliability specialists to build and improve upon best practice reliability techniques and processes to deliver improved asset performance.
  • Analysis of asset performance and maintenance delivery data to drive improvement opportunities.
  • Improve asset performance for the business through reliability management and strong engagement with operations and maintenance.
  • Support a culture of Health, Safety & Wellbeing.
  • A valid Driver's Licence is required as this role requires very frequent travel across all of Melbourne Waters operational asset base.

About you:

  • Demonstrated experience in either electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • You have strong problemsolving and analytical skills with the ability to critically explore and analyse solution options and evaluate consequences of different risk scenarios and implement appropriate costeffective risk management techniques.
  • Extensive knowledge of reliability techniques, processes, tools and systems with the capability to utilise reliability best practice; (RCA, RCM etc).
  • You have the ability to provide a high level of customer service, and contribute to a constructive, positive and supportive team environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills including negotiation, written and communication skills, and an ability to balance priorities.
  • Experience with Maximo, SCADA, MS Office and other IT assetbased systems.

Position Description:

This is a full-time role primarily based from Preston Reservoir.

You will be required to travel to other Melbourne Water locations and field sites within the North and West of Greater Melbourne.

You will be allocated an operational work vehicle.
