About the Role

This pivotal role can be done based from Preston Reservoir and/or Brooklyn Pumping Station. Melbourne Water can offer flexible working arrangements, opportunities for flexible hours, remote work, or part-time options. As the Reliability Specialist you will be responsible for the delivery planning and safe execution of all maintenance and minor capital field work across Water Supply, Sewerage, Drainage, Waterways and Catchments for Melbourne Water.

Reporting to the Manager Maintenance you will work within the wider Works Delivery team to ensure you are providing technical expertise and experience to ensure safe, and consistent delivery of reliability improvement activities. Within the role you will also ensure to improve asset performance for the business through reliability management and strong engagement with operations and maintenance.

About you:

  • You have strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to critically explore and analyse solution options and evaluate consequences of different risk scenarios and implement appropriate cost-effective risk management techniques. 
  • Extensive knowledge of reliability techniques, processes, tools and systems with the capability to utilise reliability best practice; (RCA, RCM etc) 
  • You have the ability to provide a high level of customer service, and contribute to a constructive, positive and supportive team environment. 
  • Excellent organisational skills including negotiation, written and communication skills, and an ability to balance priorities 
  • Experience with Maximo, SCADA, MS Office and other IT asset based systems.
  • A relevant tertiary degree (Engineering, asset or maintenance management, or similar) OR Trade Certificate, and industry experience.
