CAPAC - Allied Health Assistant - Rehab in the Home

About the role:

In this rewarding role no day is ever the same.

You will be given opportunities to facilitate excellent patient care under the supervision of a qualified CAPAC Allied Health Practitioner.


Daily tasks are varied and include assisting the CAPAC team with administrative duties and the implementation of treatment programs for clients.

On commencement, you will be supported by the CAPAC Service Manager, Allied Health Service Manager and committed staff to assist your development and success within the role

  • Situated in central Newcastle you will be absorbed by breathtaking beaches, a vibrant café culture, and stunning coastal scenery.
  • Community acute postacute care (CAPAC) is a dynamic service incorporating 4 essential programs; Hospital in the Home, Rehabilitation in the Home, Healthy at Home and the Transitional Aged Care Program. Located at the Newcastle Community Health Centre, the multidisciplinary team provides communitybased care for patients to support home recovery and avoid hospital admission/readmission.

Requirements:

  • To meet the requirements for Level 2: demonstrated experience working as an Allied Health Assistant Level 1 for a period of 12 months or more and/or Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent qualification).
  • If the applicant is unable to demonstrate these requirements, the applicant will commence service at Level
  • If the applicant has completed a Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance they will be classified as an Allied Health Assistant Level
  • Eligibility to drive in NSW and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes which may involve driving long distances.

About you:

  • You will be a resourceful, results driven and experienced (preferred but not essential) Allied Health Assistant.
  • You will have excellent time management and prioritisation skills to handle workload, meet deadlines and complete work activities.
  • You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to build positive rapport with clients that use our service.
  • You will have also intermediate level computer skills and thrive while working effectively in a busy environment.
