About our Engineering Team
The Jetstar Engineering Team are at the forefront of delivering operational excellence. They are responsible for ensuring the airworthiness and reliability of our fleet.


As part of the investment in our future, we have a fleet of new A320NEO's arriving from mid-2022 and we recently launched the Melbourne Engineering Precinct, which is the primary maintenance hub of our network.

Our team has the opportunity to work not only on Jetstar aircraft, but also support Qantas Group A320/1, B717 and A321 Freighter aircraft and Jetstar Branded Airlines (JBA's) in Singapore and Japan.

The Melbourne Precinct has also become the proud new home for our Apprentice Program.

The Opportunity


As the Major Assembly Records Analyst you will be responsible for building all Major Assemblies (Inc.; Landing Gears, Engines, APU's and Thrust Reversers) within the Maintenance Information System - TRAX in accordance with CASA CASR 42regulations.


This position will interface closely with the Configuration Control, Receipt Compliance, and Data Integrity, providing support and assistance where required.


Key responsibilities of this role are;

  • Ensure regulatory compliance is maintained
  • Identify new methodologies and technology enablers to improve safety and compliance
  • Work closely with the Engineering Leadership Team to identify and actively manage any safety related issues across the fleet
  • Conduct routine audits of supplier data to ensure complete capture
  • Complete Major Assembly build in TRAX at receipt
  • Ongoing review of major assembly records to ensure back to birth data integrity.
  • Drive business/process improvement and initiatives across the department to improve compliance.
  • Work Closely with MRO Facilities to ensure quality of documents post Repair

To be considered for this role, see the preferred set of skills and experience below:

  • Aircraft Technical Data systems experience (advantage)
  • Experience in Airline Maintenance systems (advantage)
  • Experience in the TRAX Maintenance Information system (preferable)
  • Knowledge of Aircraft Configuration
  • Knowledge of Civil Aviation Regulations pertaining to the maintenance of aircraft records specifically CASR 4
  • Ability to communicate & negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Process driven, with experience in constructing new processes to deliver business goals.
  • Highly motivated and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Able to build effective working relationships, enjoy working in a team.
  • Ability to identify shortfalls in current processes and procedures, and willingness to recommend and document improvements.
  • Familiarisation with MRO Documents and Systems, such as Engine (IAE) and Landing Gear Systems (SAFRAN) would be an advantage.
  • Familiarisation with ICA Documents, such as Service Bulletins and CMM's would be an advantage


The successful applicant will be a team player who can demonstrate excellent organisation skills and an ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Strong interpersonal, diplomacy and computer skills are also essential along with the ability to effectively negotiate positive outcomes.
