The Development Facilitation team (within TMR's Transport Strategy and Planning branch) provides statewide leadership for land use and development assessment, including providing technical advice on development assessment and land use planning matters, developing system and practices to support TMRs Regions and Districts in the delivery of an integrated land use and transport system.
In the role of Director, you will provide leadership for land use and development assessment in TMR leading the provision of technical advice, and the development of systems, processes and practices.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Provide leadership and direction for the development of systems and practices in the context of land use, development assessment, statutory and transport planning across state, regional and local government levels.
Foster and lead close working relationships with Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) and the State Assessment and Referral Agency (SARA).Provide direction in relation to land use and development activities impacting on the transport network including reviewing and determining complex and contentious land use and development assessment matters.
Provide authoritative advice on complex land use planning, major developments and development assessment, through the Executive Director, to the Minister, Director-General and senior officers in TMR.
Lead statewide practices, support and systems for development assessment including roads, rail and public transport technical advice, major development projects including review of Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), land use and statutory planning, priority development areas, Ministerial designations and development compliance and enforcement across TMR.

Provide strategic leadership and an ability to lead change and foster a team culture that values performance, continuous improvement, promotes trust and adherence to public sector values in the delivery of high-quality services.
Experience leading development assessment and land use planning teams.A tertiary qualification in land use planning is desirable.
