Operated by Healthscope, Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) is located in Frenchs Forest, only 13kms north of Sydney CBD. The hospital is a contemporary 488 bed facility comprising of 60% public and 40% private beds.
Providing a wide range of health services to the local community, including Surgery, a 50 bed Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Birthing, Paediatrics, Cardiac, Mental Health, Dialysis, Cancer Centre and Outpatients.
NBH has 13 operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two Catheter Laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, all supported by a critical care unit which includes two intensive care wards.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Medical Administrator to work in a busy medical practice adjacent to the Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) Emergency Department on a full time permanent basis.
The role is responsible for the provision of high quality reception and billing support services to General Practitioners.You will make an impact by:
- Undertaking administrative duties including meet and greet patients, take all incoming calls and book patient appointments
- Update and maintain confidentiality of patient records
- Ensure patients are billed in an accurate and timely manner
- Endofday reconciliations and banking
- Deliver excellent customer service in each and every interaction
Operating hours are:
Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm (shifts between 9-5pm)
Saturday 9am - 5pm (Shifts between 9am - 5pm)
Sunday 10am - 4pm (shifts between 10am -4pm).
As a high performing team member you will have:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build rapport with patients
- Medical reception experience in a busy medical centre
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Understanding of and experience with Australian health insurance schemes and patient billing arrangements
- Exceptional customer service experience
- Competent in using various software packages (preferably patient record and healthcare related)
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines
- Ability to prioritise work while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Attention to detail.
