ABA Trades is a rapidly growing South Australian business, offering a wide range of services from same-day 24/7 emergency plumbing & gas services to general maintenance, installations, and renovations. Based in Stepney, the organization currently has 25+ team members and is growing rapidly. How you will spend your time:
Due to ongoing growth, the founder of the business is seeking an experienced executive to lead the organization through the next phase of expansion. The COO will work closely with the founder to execute the strategic plan and guide operations for profitable growth at a national level.

If you have familiarity with books like EOS, Scaling Up, or Rocket Fuel by Gino Wickman, you'll understand the type of individual we are seeking for this position. We need an 'Integrator' to complement the 'Visionary,' someone who excels at execution, numbers, prioritization, and inspiring teams.

Reporting directly to the founder, the COO will be responsible for implementing the business's strategic plan, driving performance, and ensuring high-quality service outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a track record of scaling growth in similar businesses while upholding service quality and safety standards.

This role is newly created, and we are looking for a candidate who can help establish responsibilities in partnership with the founder and a CFO advisor.
Key areas of responsibility and accomplishments include:

  • Driving EBITDA growth and managing the P&L
  • Scaling the business effectively on a national level
  • Managing all operations excluding Finance/IT/Legal
  • Leading and nurturing a 25+ staff team
  • Optimizing resource utilization
  • Enhancing the employee life cycle
  • Promoting staff engagement and safety
  • Planning and executing sales & marketing activities
  • Ensuring exceptional customer experiences
  • Maintaining positive execution rhythms
