The position will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out basic reception front desk duties including handling incoming phone calls and greeting clients.
  • Effective and efficient management of scheduling patient appointments.
  • Billing and Receipting, including, understanding of patient billing, Medicare Item Numbers and DVA billing.
  • Ensuring correct filing of patient records, managing and creating patient records accurately, liaison with doctors and lab staff.
  • Maintain excellent communications with staff, clients and strategic alliance partners of the practice including other doctors, offices and suppliers.
  • Emails, general administration and assisting with other activities as requested.

To be successful in this position, applicants must be able to demonstrate: -

  • A proven and previous background as a medical receptionist with a minimum of 3 years previous work experience working in a busy reception area within a medical environment.
  • Have experience and good knowledge of Medical Terminology as well as a high attention to detail. Respiratory and sleep terminology knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Computer literacy or familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, as well as medical software, preferably Zedmed.
  • Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced, vibrant environment.
  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highlevel organisational skills with multitasking capability and effective time management skills.
  • Prior background of working in a busy environment, maintaining productivity and composure.
  • Professional, positive disposition with the ability to establish rapport quickly and easily with clients and service providers.
  • Experienced and vibrant telephone manner.
  • Ability to learn and embrace new online and offline technologies, systems and work practices as they develop and become available.
  • Respectful of confidentiality (re: staff, clients and business practices and intellectual property)
The practice at RSA is required to be covered between 7.30am-6.00pm Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday morning. At NRFU the hours on a Monday ,Wednesday and occasional Thursdays are approx. until 7.30pm.
