Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic at United Air Conditioning

We are on the lookout for a skilled Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Mechanic to join our dynamic team. This role involves installing, servicing, and repairing commercial air conditioning and mechanical systems and equipment.

Tasks Include:

  • Establishing job requirements from drawings and specifications, and marking installation reference points
  • Drilling holes, fitting mounting brackets, and fabricating piping through cutting, bending, and threading
  • Installing and fixing components like compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, as well as various piping for gas, refrigerant, steam, compressed air, oil, and chilled water
  • Joining pipes by bolting, soldering, riveting, welding, and brazing, ensuring proper alignment and fit accuracy
  • Charging systems with gas or fluid to detect leaks
  • Testing refrigeration systems, examining components, and making necessary adjustments
  • Evacuating test gas and fluid using vacuum pumps, and recharging with refrigerant
  • Inspecting and servicing refrigeration systems, identifying faults, and replacing faulty parts
  • Calibrating system controls, rebuilding mechanisms, and reassembling systems
  • Documenting causes of malfunctions and corresponding corrective actions taken

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Trade Qualified, Cert III or higher (preferred)
  • Minimum of one year of proven experience
  • Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one
  • White Card or the ability to acquire
  • Working with Children Card or possibility to obtain one

Desirable Experience and Licenses:

  • Full ARC (RAC) license
  • NT Restricted electrical license
  • High-risk work license

Job Location: Northern Territory

Salary Range: $75,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year

Job Type: Full-Time
