About the role

Mater's Digital Service Centre has an exciting opportunity for a Digital Support Specialist to join the team in a permanent and full-time capacity at our Mackay location. You will be the first point of contact for Mater people state-wide needing assistance with digital technologies.

This role entails being the subject matter specialist supporting systems, technology, and workflows that the Digital Service Centre handles. Responsibilities include mentoring Digital Support Officers, collaborating with other team members to troubleshoot complex issues, and addressing skills and knowledge gaps.

Salary range: $46.33 (MCAS level 4) per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging

What you'll be doing

Key duties for this role include:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex desktop support faults and requests
  • Assign priority to unresolved tasks according to procedures
  • Record actions taken and set customer expectations
  • Provide guidance and feedback to Digital Support Officers
  • Update documentation and training materials
  • Identify knowledge gaps and opportunities for self-service
  • Assist with routine non-Digital enquiries
  • Perform on-call desktop support and assist with Level 1 phone support
  • Install and upgrade IT equipment
  • Support system upgrades and provide audio-visual and network support
  • Manage IT assets

About you

To excel in this role, you should ideally have:

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant IT experience
  • Experience in service desk and desktop support in complex environments
  • Strong customer service and technical skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft systems, networking, and hardware support
  • Effective time management and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team
