Build a dynamic and rewarding career in equity research, through in-depth analysis of Australia's leading retail, food and beverage companies.
Job responsibilities
- Fundamental research across the consumer industry, including detailed financial modelling, valuation and report writing
- Build client relationships as you discuss research ideas, complete client requests, etc
- Build a network of unlisted industry contacts across the FMCG and retail industries to generate insights and drive value for clients
- Drive engagement internally with research sales and sales trading teams
- Work closely with the broader JP Morgan equity research team, contributing to idea generation and collaborative reports
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- At least 2 years of experience in equities research, funds management, investment banking or a related analytical role
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Economics, etc
- An understanding of finance and accounting and an interest in the retail & consumer sectors
- A passion for equity markets
- Advanced level of proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to work effectively internally, across research & sales, and externally with corporates & clients
- Hard working with a cando attitude; curious, analytical and determined; high levels of attention to detail and pride in one's work
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Professional qualifications i.e. CFA (or progress toward a CFA) qualification
- Demonstration of passion for markets, such as modelling of companies and/or personal investments
