Mentor/assistant Group Facilitator

Are you passionate about working with young girls with autism aged 11-17, and helping them develop to their fullest potential? Do you have experience in mentoring or supporting young people? If yes, then this might be the perfect opportunity for you.


Responsibilities:

  • To support the development of therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • To assist clients in a group therapy setting to participate using behavioural management strategies.
  • To assist and support the therapist facilitate group therapy sessions and meet goals for the clients either through individual & group work.
  • To provide feedback to the therapist on the progress of the therapy program where the assistant is delivering the package.
  • To keep clients details confidential and to report any issues of concern and safety issues to the therapist and meet mandatory reporting guidelines.
  • To undertake admin duties as required to support planning, implementation and evaluation of the program.
  • Transport clients out into the community to support social skills and work on individuals therapeutic goals.

Required:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Working with vulnerable people check or willingness to obtain one.
  • License, suitable vehicle and references.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working with young people on the autism spectrum or working in a supportive role highly regardedas the right applicant will be fully trained.
  • Applicants currently training/studying in this area or previous education in this relevant field a bonus.
  • LSA experience or training, or another relevant field a bonus.
