Melba Support Services is actively recruiting for a Communications and Engagement Lead to join our Communications team on a Permanent Full-time basis, located in either our Lilydale or Dandenong office and working remotely (Hybrid Working).


It's an exciting time to join Melba's Communications Team We are building our capability to respond to our changing organisation and to play an integral role in the delivery of our new Strategic Plan.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and coordinate the delivery of strategic communications and engagement plans for daytoday communications and priority projects
  • Identify opportunities to develop our communication capabilities with our customerfocused teams to drive alignment with our strategy
  • Provide strategic communications support and advice to project leaders and other staff as required
  • Deliver creative, innovative and engaging communications to achieve communications plan objectives, including content that inspires our people (video, photography, presentations and other written material)
  • Coordinate delivery of communication plan outputs across the team and monitor impacts
  • Work with the communications team to plan content for social media marketing campaigns
  • Manage projects with external contractors to be on time and within budget

Qualifications and Experience
You are a self-starter and have a wide range of communications and marketing experience across digital and traditional channels. You will have a passion for internal communications that engage and have impact. You will thrive on working collaboratively with internal teams and external service providers to deliver on key projects.

  • 7+ years' experience in a communications role
  • Experience in writing for a range of audiences and mediums, from social media to annual reports
  • Ability to effectively engage with a wide range of internal stakeholders and maintain strong working relationships
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills with a close eye for detail
  • A natural storyteller, you have an ability to create compelling content that motivates and is inclusive of target audiences
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead complex projects to completion
  • Ability to write according to Plain English and Easy English principles
  • Excellent computer literacy and digital communications knowhow. Capability in design packages is an advantage
  • Degree qualified in communications/journalism or a similar
