Your future role:

Could you be the Welding Coach that we're looking for based in our Dandenong manufacturing site. Reporting the Industrial Expert Welding Engineer, you will be joining the welding team to support the rail projects, ensuring that training and qualification of welders and qualification of welding procedures to applicable standards

We'll look to you for:

  • Providing training and coaching in MAG/TIG welding (135/141)
  • Conducting welders' qualification to EN9606 standard
  • Conducting WPQR/WPS qualification
  • Preparing the test plates, using hand tools like angle grinder, belt sander, drop saw.
  • Conducting visual inspections of welds
  • Conducting destructive testing of welds (macro test/bend test/hardness test)
  • Maintaining cleanliness and good order in the weld school

All about you:

  • Certificate IV in Engineering (Welding) as a minimum
  • Excellent welding skills with both MAG/TIG welding (135/141)
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Sound knowledge of AS/NZS and ISO welding symbols
  • Knowledge of EN9606 and EN5817 standards will be an advantage
  • Experience as a welding trainer or welding coach
  • Ability to troubleshoot welding problems on the spot
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills
