WAM Australia is looking for a competent and motivated Workshop Manager to join our team As the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for managing and controlling activities within the workshop and allocating resources in line with the production plan.

The Italian WAMGROUP, worldwide leader in developing and manufacturing equipment and plant components for bulk solids handling and processing, has been represented in Australia by its own subsidiary since 1996. WAM Australia is responsible for distribution of the WAMGROUP product range in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, as well as Micronesia.

Responsibilities

  • Control and coordinate workshop production activities, make reasonable allocation of manpower, equipment and promote the product line to finish production target.
  • Implement the production plan on the basis of production target, quality and lead time, arrange and control production schedule.
  • Follow up day-to-day production status, product need, manufacturing process and output value to fulfill production target on time.
  • Eliminate the product line barrier to keep the product volume balance of different line.
  • Responsible for the completion rate of production plan, find and clear up the root cause for deferred.
  • Manage the defective rate and scrap rate on the basis of KPI, decrease the waste of raw material and manpower.
  • Make quick response to manufacturing abnormality, find and track problem, make rational propose.
  • 5S management.
  • Daily routine work like employee training, performance appraisal and so on.
  • Other works assigned by leader.
  • Identify any OH&S hazards in the processes or equipment used by workers that can cause workplace accident risks. Communicate this to your manager or safety manager and propose your idea on how to eliminate these risks

Requirements

  • Minimum of a 10 years in welding/metal fabrication workshops
  • Minimum of 5 years managing/supervising metal fabrication shops
  • Experience of working in a fast moving workshop environment
  • Leading a multi discipline team to safely produce high quality products efficiently whilst maintaining plant in excellent working order
  • Managing a team and self-development in a supportive and engaging environment
  • Technical knowledge of heavy plant and fast moving manufacturing processes
  • Ability to quickly learn new production techniques and manufacturing improvement processes and coach others
