Our client in North Queensland is looking for a dedicated and caring Counsellor to join their team providing Family and Community Counselling Services in Townsville. The chosen candidate will be essential in offering support to individuals and families in the Townsville area. Responsibilities include delivering top-notch counselling services, conducting thorough assessments, creating personalized treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based therapeutic techniques. Additionally, the Counsellor will collaborate with fellow professionals, maintain accurate client records, and engage in regular clinical supervision sessions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in counselling within a similar environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of therapeutic techniques suitable for diverse clients
  • Strong communication skills to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
  • Familiarity with ethical guidelines and commitment to professional standards
  • Current or eligible registration with a professional body
  • Proficiency in computer use and video conference sessions

To Be Successful in This Role You Will Have

  • A relevant tertiary degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Behavioural Sciences
  • Membership eligibility for a professional association
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in evidence-based therapeutic interventions and goal-setting
  • Current Driver Licence
  • Eligibility for a Disability Worker Screening and Working with Children Blue Card
