Full time$114,825.00 to $123, % superannuationNational Archives is looking for an Assistant Director in our Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO) within the Transformation Office.

You will contribute to the successful delivery of organisational projects and provide a blend of project management expertise, leadership capability, and have a strong understanding of organisational goals and objectives.

The successful candidate will be joining a newly formed, small, but enthusiastic team who are committed to building a successful new EPMO function and making a positive impact in terms of how National Archives delivers change.

You should have strong leadership and influencing skills, and the ability to foster, develop, and maintain positive and successful professional relationships.

The Transformation Office currently has staff in the following offices:

Brisbane (Cannon Hill) Queensland, Sydney (Chester Hill) New South Wales, Melbourne (North Melbourne) Victoria and Canberra (Mitchell / Parkes) Australian Capital Territory.

We will consider other National Archives state offices for the right person; Perth (Northbridge) Western Australia, Darwin (Millner) Northen Territory, Adelaide (CBD) South Australia and Hobart (CBD) Tasmania.

Under limited direction, the main duties of the role are to:

Assist in overseeing and managing the National Archives portfolio of work, ensuring the scope of programs and projects align with organisational objectives.

Support the Director in making strategic decisions related to project prioritisation and resource allocationBuild and maintain effective, professional relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

Facilitating effective communication and maintain strong relationships with project sponsors, steering committees, and stakeholders.

Contribute to the development and implementation of EPMO strategies and initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and driving continuous process enhancementsMonitoring, evaluating and reporting on the progress of complex projects ensuring that risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies between projects are visible, reported and well managed.

Prepare and deliver complex and high-quality papers, reports, briefs and presentations and manage the Agency's project registers that detail in-flight and completed projects, and lessons learned.

Build project management capability across the organisation, and provide guidance on the use of project management methods and project management tools.

Provide leadership and professional expertise across the agency by contributing to the development and implementation of frameworks that standardise practice and improve performance.

Promote and apply the APS and National Archives values and contemporary people management principles and practices in diversity, workplace health and safety and participative management.

Strategy 2030

and

Our Values

.Relevant qualifications or experience with portfolio, program or project management, preferably in a large organisation or government setting preferred.

Eligibility:
To be eligible for the role you must be an Australian citizen.

If you are selected, you will be required to successfully undergo a pre-employment check and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at a Baseline clearance level.
