We have an opportunity for an experienced Retail Manager role to join the team at Stockland Wetherill Park Shopping Centre in Western Sydney.

A vibrant retail town centre, Stockland Wetherill Park is a community hub, delivering a fashion, dining and entertainment experience.

Anchored by Coles, Woolworths, Big W and Kmart, the centre also includes 12 mini-majors, as well as more than 180 specialty stores.

It also boasts a dining and entertainment precinct, Kinchin Lane, which includes a 12-screen Hoyts cinema and Timezone; and offers a full range of services including a 24-hour gym, a medical centre and dental services.


The Opportunity - About the Role


Reporting into the Centre Manager, you will manage retail operations for the centre, focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with all key stakeholder groups, with a focus on retailer management and development.


You will have the opportunity to champion various projects in conjunction with the centre management, leasing, project management and development teams.

You will play a key role in the financial management of the asset, accurately forecasting risks and opportunities across both income and expense budgets and maintaining effective debtor control.


You will work alongside the duty managers to ensure that there is sufficient cover for the Centre which will include working one Saturday every month (with a day in lieu).


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Driving the asset net profit including all revenue streams whilst containing expenditure within budget
  • Managing operational and capital expenditure budgets
  • Manage Lease assignments
  • Manage arrears and debt
  • Assist Centre Manager with collating monthly reporting data
  • Ensure that tenants adhere to lease conditions
  • Manage tenancy delivery process
  • Establishing and maintaining harmonious relationships with the local business community
  • Contribute to Facilities Management risk audits
  • Assist and contribute to Centre Marketing initiatives

About You

  • You will come with prior retail or shopping centre management experience in a similar role.
  • You will hold appropriate tertiary qualifications as well as your Real Estate Licence (preferred)
  • You will be an ambitious, high achiever with prior retail/project management experience who is looking for the next challenge in your career.
  • With exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills, you will be at ease liaising with retailers, customers and the wider team and community to ensure the continued success and growth of the centre.
  • Strong background in financial management and budgeting
  • P&L exposure would be advantageous.
  • Proven track record of thriving in a fastpaced and dynamic environment and not be afraid to think outside the box to drive new revenue streams into the centre.
