What You Will Be Doing
This role is funded as part of the Aboriginal Health Promotion and Chronic Care (AHPACC) initiative.

AHPACC initiative supports Aboriginal community-controlled health organisations (ACCHOs) and community health services to work in partnership to develop and deliver local services and programs that seek to prevent and manage the chronic disease within Aboriginal communities.

As part of this initiative, the Aboriginal Healthy Start to Life clinician at Peninsula Health

  • Community Health supports the health and development of Aboriginal families with children from birth to primary school aged. This role works closely alongside the Peninsula Health Koori Maternity Service and local Aboriginal services within the community to support families with linkages to programs and relevant services, such as Maternal and Child Health, Audiology and Dental Services.
This position proudly aligns to the _Korin Korin Balit-Djak _Victorian policy and strategic objectives.

In doing so, this Clinician works within a multidisciplinary child health team to support identification of health and developmental needs for babies and young children.

Requests for reduced/ part-time hours may be considered.

What You Need

We anticipate you will have:

  • A recognised professional background (Registered Nurse/Allied Health Professional) with experience working in a health setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong organisational skills and ability to work autonomously and drive client and community outcomes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for facilitating effective relationships with clients, community and other stakeholders.
  • Paediatric experience / expertise in childhood development (desirable)
