Role Summary


An opportunity is now available for an Associate Director to join our Engineering and Design business based from either Sydney or Brisbane.


Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as the key Pumped Hydro resource for SNC-Lavalin Australia, supporting the design and project management teams, by linking technical delivery on major infrastructure projects.
  • Lead and manage complex infrastructure projects, managing international design teams.
  • Coordination of multiple design packages across disciplines.
  • Manage client expectations and build lasting relationships.
  • Collaborate with client teams to agree on strategies that benefit their project and SNC-Lavalin.
  • Ensure stakeholder requirements are inputted into the design.
  • Communicate stakeholder requirements to global design teams.
  • Work with the ANZ leadership team (CEO, Clients & Markets Director, and Head of E&D) to develop market strategies by utilizing their experience in core markets and industry network.
  • Build the team grow the Pumped Hydro team through experienced and early career recruitment.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Proven Pumped Hydro project experience and strong numerical/analytical capabilities, with an excellent knowledge of the applicable codes and guidance.


 Project Management
  • Experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets, including relationships with clients, work planning and commercial management.
  • Proficiency in leading designs within appropriate digital analysis packages, following local and national guidance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to develop and lead design teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients.
