The focus of the Supporting Teenagers with Education, Mothering and Mentoring curriculum is the learner-mother.It is recognized that each young mother that enrols in the program brings a unique approach to learning and that they come from diverse backgrounds.
All activity of the new curriculum will be to ensure that the learning needs of each individual mother are met to the best ability of the program.
THE IDEAL APPLICANT WILL BE SOMEONE WHO HAS THE FOLLOWING KEY ATTRIBUTES:- Demonstrate and understanding of, and commitment to, working in an innovative team to achieve the vision and goals of the organisation.
- Demonstrate and understanding of the complexities involved with working with previously disengaged pregnant and parenting young mums and their children in an alternative education site including the development and implementation of programs with a focus on early intervention strategies.
- Willingness to be involved in Education, Mothering and Mentoring activities and communications outside of school hours including some evenings, weekends, and school holidays.
- Ability to balance the ethical issues of privacy and confidentiality for each student with appropriateness of sharing information with others whilst working within Education Queensland Code of Conduct and Mandatory Reporting Frameworks.
- Demonstrate initiative, ability to work unsupervised, strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to develop and sustain productive relationships with STEMM team members, students, community organisations and volunteers.

The department is responsible for the delivery of quality education services to all Queensland students in state schools and recognises teachers and their commitment to teaching through a range of rewards and benefits.

- Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.
