About the role


National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Project Officer to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.

The Project Officer - Learning Technologies manages the technology used in NPWS training courses to enhance the learning experience.

They are responsible for the development of engaging and interactive digital resources and activities to support learning and assessment tasks, as well as managing the physical devices used by learners.

Key tasks of this role include contributing to the development of virtual reality and simulation environments for training and leading the adoption of the new Digital Asset Management System by NPWS trainers and assessors.


About you
You have an innovative and creative mindset and enjoy helping people develop their skills using technology. You will have experience working in the vocational education and training environment and enjoy a challenge. You love learning how to master new skills, which you can then share with others.

You're keen to join a great team, located across the state and can travel, when required, to support training being undertaken in regional locations.


Essential requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in managing projects.
  • Experience in development and delivery of projects, including the development of project plans, monitoring of project timelines, budgets and reporting requirements, and contract administration
  • Demonstrated experience in developing effective online courses and training digital resources

Desired skills and knowledge

  • Experience working in the vocational education and training sector.
  • Understanding of firefighting and incident operations in New South Wales.
  • Experience in using Lectora (or equivalent) and the Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalent)
