The Opportunity


An opportunity exists for a highly motivated Senior Manager to lead a dedicated and professional team in our Operating Theatre Department.


  • The successful applicant will work closely with the Executive Team to shape organisational strategy, enhance procedural service provision and achieve departmental and hospital strategic objectives.
  • As the Theatre Manager, you will be responsible for the management of 15 busy operating theatres for both elective and emergency procedures.
  • You will work closely with Scrub Scout and Anaesthetic floor managers to ensure the smooth running of the complex.
  • You will work with all theatre stakeholders to achieve excellence in care delivery in line with best practice and legislative requirements.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Extensive current clinical practice in perioperative role (minimum 5 years)
  • Recent theatre management experience
  • Ability to build rapport with VMOs and staff
  • Commitment to improvement and excellence in the delivery of outcomes
  • OHS responsibility and leadership in risk minimisation
  • Ongoing activity analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage resources and experience in implementing sustainable change
  • Computer and scheduling skills.

DESIRABLE

  • Graduate Certification/Diploma in Perioperative Nursing
  • Leadership training

About the Hospital
Westmead Private Hospital opened in October 2000 and is owned and operated by global hospital group, Ramsay Health Care. We cater for a broad range of health care needs from day surgery procedures through to highly complex surgery.


The 212 bed private hospital is co-located with Westmead Hospital and Westmead Children's Hospital and is a teaching hospital of the Western Clinical School of the University of Sydney.
