About Us:

Our school is an exciting place to be where great learning and teaching happens. We are a proud member of the state education system of Queensland. We educate students of compulsory and pre-compulsory school age through highly modified, alternate programs that focus on individual need.

We offer four programs on this campus:

  • A Special School program for students aged 518 years who have intellectual disabilities. Many of our students have also been diagnosed with Autism and/or physical and sensory impairments.
  • Xavier Conductive Education program for students who have intellectual disabilities and physical disabilities aged from 5 to 18 years
  • Two Early Childhood Developmental Programs (ECDP) that provides targeted early intervention to children aged under 6 years. The Xavier ECDP caters specifically for children who have physical impairments.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program.
  • Lead and manage the Special Education Program and/or Early Childhood Development Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed.
  • Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
  • Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
  • Provide, support and/or coordinate case management for students who require extensive or substantial
  • Support classroom teachers and other school staff to access departmental or other external specialist services, professional development, and supports as needed.
