Position - Professional Organiser

About the Business A Place of Calm is a professional organising and decluttering service. We work with a broad range of clients, many with complex needs, helping them to declutter and organise their homes and create functional spaces and systems that reduce stress and risks to their wellbeing.

About the Role A Place of Calm is looking for a professional organiser in Werribee to join their team. The primary focus of the role is to guide and empower our clients as they make informed decisions about how they want their space to be, and to help them achieve a greater sense of organisation, stability and calmness in themselves and the physical spaces that surround them.

  • Work with clients to create customised plans for decluttering and organisation of physical spaces
  • Work hands on with clients to implement their plans
  • Assist clients to establish sustainable routines and habits to maintain safe and clutter free environments
  • Provide advice on space functionality and storage options
  • Document, monitor and update the client's objectives and progress

  • A strong client focus, including empathy, patience, trustworthiness and strong listening skills
  • A desire to make a difference in the lives of people who are struggling with clutter and disorganisation, particularly people who are aging and living with disabilities, without judgement

Strong organisation skills with the ability to create functional spaces:


  • Resilience to situations and environments where hoarding tendencies and squalor may be present:
  • An understanding that the work can be quite physical
  • Presentable and a respectful, polite manner
  • Professional handling of sensitive and confidential information
  • A commitment to your role and the team at A Place of Calm

You will need

  • A Driver's licence and own car
  • A Police check
  • A Working with Children Check
  • Employment
  • Be vaccinated against Covid unless there is a medical exemption

Knowledge and/or experience in the following areas would be an advantage:

  • Aged care or disability sectors, including mental health
  • Autism, ADHD
  • Extensive clutter and disorganisation/hoarding tendencies
  • Family focused home organisation
