Department: Department of Families, Fairness and Housing

THE ROLE

The Manager of Workplace Change and Reform will lead departmental transformation initiatives and Employee Relations projects aimed at enhancing organisational structures, role change, and operating models to ensure the integration, effectiveness, and sustainability of the department's programs and services.

In this role, one applies expertise in strategy formulation, organisational design thinking, change management, and project management to drive human-centric and empathetic change initiatives while aligning with legislative, industrial, and strategic imperatives as well as business goals.

This position entails leveraging a broad skill set to shepherd change initiatives from inception to fruition. It necessitates adept stakeholder engagement, facilitation, rigorous industrial relations acumen, change management proficiency, and effective communication abilities, underpinned by a blend of analytical and creative problem-solving approaches.

Reporting to the Director of Employee Relations, the Manager of Workplace Change and Reform operates as both an individual contributor and project lead, collaborating closely with departmental leaders, subject matter experts, and other members of the People & Culture team to execute the role effectively

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

  • Manage a range of projects/functions with a high level of autonomy and accountability, budget, resourcing responsibilities and strategic importance.
  • Utilise a range of methodologies to support business areas to analyse their organisational structures, workforce roles, business operations and service delivery and conceptualise and progress strategic opportunities for redesign and improvement.
  • Respond productively to deliver solutions and outcomes in an organisational environment complicated by scale, heterogeneity and complexity.
