: Join the Corporate, Prevention and Communication Team within the ACT Integrity Commission, a pivotal team within a bustling law-enforcement agency. Our compact and dynamic team is crucial in managing a broad spectrum of corporate functions. As the Senior Communications and Engagement Officer, you will play an integral role within the Communications and Engagement stream and lead the delivery of the Commission's internal and external communications. You will also offer your expertise to the Corruption Prevention and Education and Corporate Governance, Planning and Assurance streams as needed.

In this role, you'll be part of a small team where collaboration is key. This role suits someone eager to actively contribute in a small team setting, where each member's input is crucial to our collective success. This position is ideal to demonstrate your engagement in practical work making meaningful contributions to the Commission's operations. As the sole communications officer for the Commission, your role is pivotal in planning and producing educational and communications resources and products to improve visibility of the Commission and educate the ACT community on the important work we do. You will also be instrumental in leading internal communications at the Commission focusing on delivery of information and content relating to activities within the agency. These efforts are vital in ensuring the Commission operates smoothly and effectively.

Agency Overview

The ACT Integrity Commission is an independent body that has powers under the Integrity Commission Act 2018 to investigate and prevent corrupt conduct and foster public confidence in the ACT Legislative Assembly and the ACT public sector. To complement its investigative, referral and preventative functions, the ACTIC also delivers integrity and anti-corruption advice, education and training to ACT public sector agencies under its jurisdiction.

The Commission commenced the operational component of its work on 1 December 2019.

Eligibility/ Other Requirements: Section 50 of the Integrity Commission Act 2018 provides that the Commissioner must not appoint a person as a member of staff of the Commission if the person is or has, in the 5 years immediately before the day of the proposed appointment, been an ACT public servant.

Note for ACT public servants - The ACT Integrity Commission (ACTIC) is prohibited from appointing people who have been ACT Public Servants within the last 5 years. However, the services of ACT public servants can be provided to ACTIC, with the approval of the Head of Service, under section 54 of the Integrity Commission Act 2018. If you are currently employed by the ACT public service and/or have been in the past five years, you can lodge an application on the basis that, if you are the preferred candidate, approval to second your services will be required from your Directorate and the Head of Service.

Secondment arrangements may also be considered if you are currently employed in Federal public service agencies.

The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth security clearance at the Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) classification. Applicants will therefore need to hold Australian citizenship.

A full driver's licence is preferred but not essential.
