Job Description

Location of work: Darwin

Scope of Works

The Business Analysts will be responsible for various business analysis tasks, such as requirements planning and management, elicitation, analysis, and documentation. They will also capture existing business processes and proposed changes. The Analyst will work on implementing COTS and/or custom applications for different projects/programs. Collaboration with Project Manager, Director, or Lead Analyst is essential to execute project approaches successfully.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Organize workshops, interviews, and focus groups with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements, ensuring requirements traceability.
  • Prepare specifications to configure and build solutions according to identified requirements.
  • Conduct walkthroughs to validate and approve business analysis outputs.
  • Provide analysis support throughout project development or implementation lifecycle.
  • Create Future State System Workflows (BPMN2.0) and relevant UML Use Cases.
  • Utilize business analysis techniques and tools to document requirements, objectives, outcomes, and workflows.
  • Support testing activities including preparing and executing test plans and cases.
  • Deliver project documentation aligned with project management frameworks, meeting quality standards.
  • Handle sensitive information and maintain records following information management policies.


Deliverables

The Business Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders and vendors to design and implement appropriate solutions, translating and documenting specifications meeting business requirements.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrated skills and experience as a Business Analyst including requirements gathering, business process analysis/modelling, process mapping, and information analysis/modelling in a complex business environment.
  • Experience mapping business requirements and processes to product functionality, identifying gaps and opportunities.
  • Proven experience managing information requirements and traceability of business requirements.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective client liaison, change management, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience in delivering major business systems projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visio, Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.
  • Experience analyzing legislative or regulatory requirements.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience in BPMN 2.0 standard and development of UML Use Cases.
  • Previous work in a Government environment.
  • Health sector experience is favorable.
