On behalf of Ellis Post Tension Pty Ltd a distinguished engineering solutions provider offering a comprehensive range of services, including structural design, construction services and specialised expertise in the design and construction of post-tension slabs company based in the Seven Hills NSW 2147 area, we are conducting a search for a dedicated and skilled Structural Steel Detailer.


Current Opening:

This opportunity is a full-time position (38 hours per week).

Position Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Interpret and understand detailed engineering drawings and specifications provided by architects and structural engineers.
  • Produce detailed shop drawings and plans for structural steel components, ensuring compliance with design specifications and standards.
  • Develop accurate and precise drawings of steel structures, including columns, beams, trusses and connections.
  • Conduct material takeoffs to determine the quantity and specifications of steel required for fabrication and construction.
  • Collaborate closely with structural engineers, architects and other professionals to address design requirements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Ensure that detailed drawings adhere to relevant codes, standards and industry regulations, emphasising quality and precision.
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with fabrication teams, construction personnel and project stakeholders to convey design intent and resolve issues.
  • Participate in site inspections to verify that steel components are installed in accordance with the approved drawings and specifications.
  • Identify and address design and fabrication challenges, proposing solutions to ensure the structural integrity and functionality of steel components.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A Diploma in a related field or 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a similar role.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with engineers, architects and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify and resolve design and fabrication challenges efficiently.
  • Understanding of different types of steel, their properties and how they are used in construction.
  • Familiarity with construction site processes and the ability to conduct site inspections.

Salary:

The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $70,000 plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
