About the team


Group Finance and Investment (GFI) is a trusted advisor to the Transport cluster, and partners with our stakeholders to make all financial and funding considerations for our once-in-a-generation $75.7 billion infrastructure program over the next four years.

We provide best in class financial services to support decision-making on transport services, infrastructure investment and delivery. GFI plays a critical role in project planning and funding, enterprise planning and financial management and control.

The opportunity


We have a permanent full-time opportunity for a Senior Manager Portfolio Strategic Assessment to join the Capital Portfolio Management branch in the Finance and Investment Division.

This functional area specifically targets the achievement of maximised customer outcomes from our 10 year capital portfolio.

Based out of our Elizabeth Street office in Sydney at least three days a week, you will maintain the alignment of TfNSW capital portfolio outcomes within wider NSW Government, INSW and TfNSW strategy.

This role provides strategic evaluation of the capital portfolio and prepares specific strategies targeting optimised transport outcomes from within available funding.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and motivate a team of employees, to deliver the portfolio strategic assessment function and to ensure that consistent processes, rigorous content, and timely control mechanisms are in place.
  • Assess portfolio performance against strategic objectives and measures to ensure the funded portfolio and future investment pipeline achieves optimised customer outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities and gaps in achieving desired customer outcomes and develop strategies to adjust the focus of the portfolio for transport Executive consideration.
  • Provide strategic assessmentbased reporting to the Insights & Reporting Team on systematic basis in the required format for inclusion in internal and external reporting.
