Head of Department (Curriculum) - Ayr State School North Queensland Region, Early Childhood and State Schools Division Ayr State School are seeking a dynamic and visionary individual to join their team as the Head of Department (Curriculum) from 05 July 2024 until 13 December 2024 with a possibility of extension.

Ayr State School is looking for someone who drive quality of teaching and learning whilst nurturing positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.

About the School Ayr State School contains 75 students and caters for students from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds.

About the Role As the Head of Department (Curriculum) you will have responsibility for the following: Lead the relevant curriculum areas and whole school program to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.

Lead teachers, students and stakeholders to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.

Lead and coordinate the coaching and mentoring of teachers and teacher aides, developing collegiality, building a learning culture with a key focus on visible learning, explicit instruction and high yield strategies.

Lead the monitoring of students' individual performance and behaviour and develop and implement intervention strategies where necessary.
Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
Set high standards for student and staff performance.
Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
Form partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.
Be futures oriented and strategic.

Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling especially in relation to students and staff within the school department.

Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the curriculum areas or whole school program to achieve goals.
