Utilising our owners-team operating model, we are currently working with several clients across a range of commodities and, with numerous projects on the horizon, we are looking to expand our team.

THE ROLEApplications are sought from experienced open pit and underground Senior Mining Engineers to join the team at our West Perth office.

The role, reporting to the Project Director, leverages your technical knowledge and operational experience to play a key role in mine plan strategy, development, evaluation and optimisation.

The scope of projects includes early strategy and scoping, feasibility, pre-development planning, mine development and operational readiness phases.
The responsibilities of this role will include:

Mine Design:
Develop mine plans, considering orebody geometry and grade distribution, rock mass conditions; extraction methods; safety; and infrastructure requirements.

Mine Scheduling:
Prepare schedules considering orebody confidence and definition; client expenditure constraints; mine production guidance; and execution risk.

Strategic Optimisation:
Implement strategic planning initiatives to optimise profitability, orebody extraction and production efficiency of mine plans.

Client Collaboration:

Engage with Clients as required to understand their project objectives, provide technical insights, and tailor mine plans to their specific needs.

Present technical information in a clear and concise manner to Clients and stakeholders

Regulatory Compliance:

Stay up to date with relevant mining regulations, environmental standards, and safety guidelines, to ensure that all necessary requirements are considering during the mine planning process.


Innovation and Research:

Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices, and implement innovative solutions to improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

ABOUT YOUTo be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience: Bachelor's degree in mining engineering or a related field.

At least 6 years professional experience in mining operational and technical roles working for mining companies.
Consulting experience is desirable, but not essential.
Strong understanding of geological, geotechnical, operational and financial considerations in mine planning.

Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise and convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical personnel within Client project teams and their contractors, consultants and stakeholders.

A working knowledge of relevant Australian mining industry regulations, codes and standards.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
A high-level of proficiency in the use of mine planning software and Microsoft Excel.
