As well as providing hands-on care and mentoring, the team lead will be responsible for establishing systems, polices, and procedures so the team can work together consistently, effectively, and autonomously to meet Milli's needs and deliver the vision for her good life.

The team lead will have excellent people and task management skills to enable Milli's mum to step back from the daily coordination role, into an oversight role.

About Milli Milli is a passionate ukulele player, singer, and performer.
She loves role-playing, rhyming and creating her own lyrics for songs.
She is a keen sailor and has recently discovered a hidden talent for boccia.
Milli is nearly 17 years old and is beginning the transition out of school into adult life.

Milli needs support to:

experience a range of activities, discover new interests and develop new skillsfind opportunities to perform, expand her musical skills, and work towards her dream of a career in musicbuild friendships and lasting connections in her communityplan, organise and execute her daily activitiestake care of herself and stay strong and healthyunderstand and manage her feelings and express her needs.

Our vision is for Milli to become socially connected in her community, have opportunities for contribution and self-expression, and be enabled to follow her passions.

About Milli Rose the Musical Pty Ltd Milli Rose the Musical is a company that provides support services just to Milli.

It is run by Milli's mum, who acts as an unpaid director.
Support staff are employed to help Milli craft the stage play that is her own life.
Milli is writing the script and composing the musical score.
She is co-director, choreographer and, of course, the lead actor.

Staff are the backstage production team – setting the stage, creating the props, auditioning the cast and working to pull the show together.

Key responsibilities Support the vision of a meaningful life and rich relationships in collaboration with both Milli's formal (paid) and informal (unpaid) supports.

In collaboration with the team, establish policies, procedures, training materials, templates and other resources to streamline operations and empower the team.

Support team members to understand the vision, values and direction of the organisation and translate them so the team understands how they relate to their everyday practice.

Establish effective communications channels and processes to ensure easy flow of information between Milli's family, medical and allied health professionals, and the support team.

Build a positive team culture of trust, transparency, knowledge sharing, collaboration and continuous learning.
Facilitate and lead the team through team meetings, mentoring, coaching and development.
Delegate and monitor team tasks ensuring they are completed on time and within expected quality standards.
Manage staff rostering, approve timesheets and check draft payroll runs for errors.
Liaise with Book Keeper and HR advisor to ensure compliance with laws.
Contribute to strategic planning, and create operational plans based on the strategic plan.
Attend meetings to plan and implement ideas for building Milli's good life.
Provide reports to the family on progress towards goals, and any risks and issues requiring input.
Ensure Milli's daily support needs are met and daily shift reports capture useful data.

Required experience and skills Thorough understanding and commitment to WH&S, NDIS Code of Conduct and standards Experience managing a team or business operations.

Experience working in disability support or related people-centred industry.

Experience in using rostering tools Excellent spoken and written English Experience in managing projects to completion Experience working with people with autism Experience working with people with physical impairment Experience working with people with vision impairment Training in music, the ability to play a musical instrument or compose music.

Good at building relationships – active listener and can lead conversations.
Punctual and reliable – an impeccable attendance record.
An active supporter of including people in ordinary community rather than disability specific, separated and segregated settings.
Physically and mentally fit and healthy to cope with the challenges of the role.
Patient, calm and able to navigate emotionally challenging situations.
Confident and able to make decisions and work autonomously to get things done.
Able to work in a collaborative and supportive way within a team.
Creative, out-of-the-box thinker who can problem solve solutions to achieve goals or create opportunities.
Value working in close relationship with people with disability, their families and committed others.
Looking for a long term position – at least 2 years.
Participation or connections in the music industry or musical community groups will be well regarded.
Reasonable location to Stones Corner area will be well regarded.

Training We provide training in how to best support Milli, as well as:positive behaviour supporthow to enter data into our shift management softwareprofessional development courses related to the role and Milli's disabilities.

Your working hours and availability We can offer 15-20 hours per week in regular shifts.

The role requires you to be flexible to:cover any open shifts due to illness or available for occasional sleepover shifts, weekends away, week-long holidays with the team meetings (once per 6 weeks) and team planning workshops.respond to calls/communications from the team or family at agreed times.
