JV Recruitment are currently searching for x2 Carpenters/Joiners with experience in Timber Stair buildingfor an ongoing project in Blackburn.

  • To carry out joinery tasks from basic plans, sketches, drawings in conjunction with appropriate written
or verbal instructions.

  • Read and interpret set outs and ensure they are correct and prepare for the job required.
  • Assemble and trail fit stair components, using a variety of joinery techniques, including but not limited
to cutting, routing, drilling, gluing, and fastening. Ensure proper alignment, fit, and structural integrity

of the components before they go on site.

  • Perform sanding, smoothing, and finishing tasks to achieve a refined and polished appearance on all
stair surfaces.

  • Prior to delivery ensure all stair components are labelled/numbered, stacked on pallet(s) for
installation.

  • Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specifications.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished stair components for defects, imperfections, or deviations from
design specifications. Make necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure compliance with quality

standards.

  • Machine Operation: Operate machinery and power tools, such as saws, routers, sanders, drills, or
joinery equipment, in a safe and efficient manner. Follow established safety protocols and maintain

equipment in good working condition.

  • To maintain all work areas in a clean, tidy, and respectful manner.
  • Workplace Safety: Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations within the factory environment.
Promote a culture of safety by identifying and addressing potential hazards promptly. Report any

accidents, incidents, or near misses to the appropriate personnel.

  • Collaboration: Coordinate and communicate with other team members, including Team Leaders,
Production Manager, or Programmers, to clarify specifications, resolve issues, or seek guidance

when necessary. Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.

  • To be able to work outside of normal hours from time to time.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • Hold a Trade Certificate in Joinery (specialising in stair making) or will have equivalent skills
gained through work experience, minimum of 3 years.

  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to be able to meet tight manufacturing deadlines.
  • Ability to solve problems of a routine nature associated with the manufacturing of staircase,
balustrading and other components.

  • A strong work ethic along with organising skills are required, along with resilience, accountability,
persistence and a 'can do' attitude.

  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Physical stamina and strength to handle materials and work in a physically demanding
environment.

  • Hold a valid driver's license and ability to drive a manual vehicle (desirable).
  • Hold a Red/White Card
  • Construction Induction Training Card.

WHAT YOU'LL GET
- $50 per hour + super + co invest

  • Meal allowance included (over 9.5 hours on a shift)
  • Time and a half and doubletime rates paid for overtime
